About Us

Who We Are:

The Norfolk Pearls Foundation of Virginia, Incorporated (NPFV) is a 501(c)(3) organization established in 2016. Our mission is to provide scholarships to college-bound high school seniors and continuing college students in the Hampton Roads area. We give of our time and expertise to implement community service programs that address educational, emotional, and social needs confronting families in Hampton Roads.

NPFV is comprised of college-educated, professional women with backgrounds and experiences in technology, medicine, dentistry, engineering, marketing, education, academic research, armed forces, public relations, accounting, finance, and law enforcement.

We are in partnerships with individuals, educational institutions, businesses, government agencies, and other charitable and nonprofit associations to further the mission of the organization.

What We Do:

NPFV serves as the charitable arm of Iota Omega Chapter, the oldest graduate chapter (1922) of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® “to have a presence in Tidewater”. In addition to annually awarding thousands of dollars in scholarships with NPFV, Iota Omega also provides service programs that focus on educational enrichment, health and wellness, family strengthening, environmental ownership, and global impact. Iota Omega’s service programs are funded through NPFV.

NPFV hosts annual fundraisers and campaign drives—Spring Jazz Hat Luncheon and Tidewater Top Chef Culinary Extravaganza. These initiatives support our mission to award scholarships, contribute to charitable organizations, and fund community service programs.
